It has been revealed that Moors Murderer, Ian Brady, played a sick game of hangman at this own trial.
Letters from Ian Brady to his mother, Margaret 'Peggy' Stewart, reveal that Ian Brady and Myra Hindley played hangman and noughts and crosses during their trial.
Details have been released following Freedom of Information requests.
According to the Mirror, Ian Brady wrote: 'The so-called witnesses were so ludicrous that we played norts and crosses and another game called hangman.
'We had to (unreadable) in the dock sometimes so we didn’t start laughing at some of the ridiculous evidence exhibited.
'Myra and I are still in excellent spirits and we’ve started to prepare seriously for the coming farce, though neither of us are losing any sleep.'
Evil Ian Brady died, aged 79, of cancer and emphysema at a secure mental health hospital in May 2017.
The five known victims of Ian Brady and Myra Hindley were: Keith Bennett, Pauline Read, John Kilbride, Lesley Ann Downey and Edward Evans.
Keith Bennett's body was never found, despite his mother, Winnie Johnson, fighting tirelessly to locate it. Winnie Johnson died in 2012 not knowing the whereabouts of Keith's body.
